How You Can Help Survivors Of Typhoon Haiyan

Survivors of Typhoon Haiyan are slowly starting to re-build their lives in the Philippines — and there is a local connection on how you can help.

Wednesday, 9&10 News was able to connect with Jim Valade, a missionary for an organization called House of Prayer.
Jim lives in Cebu City, which is about 6 hours from the areas hardest hit by the typhoon.
Prior to living in the Philippines, he has spent much of his life living in Petoskey.
He says the church he attends will be working several relief operations each week, including building homes refugees who have lost everything.
 4.4 million people were displaced.
