Leelanau Co. School Installs New Classroom Security Device

The start of a new school year is just days away, and one northern Michigan school district is adding a new security measure unlike any other.

“The Boot” is a simple device that would stop an attacker or intruder from getting into a classroom.

“Boots” have been installed on the door of every classroom at Northport Public School in Leelanau County.
