The Cherry Capitol is Back in Business

The 2013 cherry harvest means the crops are back on track here in Northern Michigan.

Last year, Mother Nature didn't cooperate resulting in substantial loss of cherry crops in the region.

Everyone from the processors and the growers to the consumers felt the effects of the sub par 2012 crop.

But this year, the weather patterns aligned to create a bountiful harvest of both sweet and tart cherries for the Northwest.

9 & 10's Marisa McKay and photojournalist Jeremy Erickson spoke to a local grower and processor to learn what factors affect the amount, and quality of our Michigan cherries.
