Camp Grayling Feeling Impact of Sequester Cuts

Camp Grayling and a nearby maintenance facility are just starting to feel the impact of the federal budget sequester.

The sequester is impacting nearly 100 Defense Department technicians in Crawford County.

Employees are being furloughed one day a week for 22 weeks, essentially taking a 20 percent pay cut.

The employees being furloughed are Defense Department employees but they also serve in the National Guard.

The cuts are reducing the amount of hours the employees have to facilitate training for 10 to 20,000 troops every year.

While many are hopeful for a change they know cuts could continue.

Kyle Mitchell and Photojournalist Jeff Blevins have more on the impact of the cuts.
