Nobody Hurt After Car Ends Up in Walloon Lake

Nobody is hurt after a car ended up in Walloon Lake as a result of an early morning accident.

The accident happened around 4:50 this morning when a woman delivering newspapers underestimated the distance left on Townsend Road in Emmet county.

The driver continued on the road as normal, ultimately driving about 200 to 230 feet into the lake, stopping in about 5 feet of water.

Responders were able to safely remove the car from the lake, and environmental teams cleaned up all of the oil and anti-freeze that had leaked from the vehicle.
