Heroin Dealer Sentenced

Traverse Narcotics Team reports that Jeremy William Bowens of Detroit was found guilty today for the charges of conspiracy to deliver heroin. 

Bowens was one of the reported leaders in a heroin and cocaine trafficking enterprise,  starting in Detroit and Ohio and reaching into Wexford County.

It was suspected that Bowens and his co-workers would distribute 40 to 50 grams of heroin at a time – weekly. The drug was then broken down and sold for approximately $20 per package. These were being sold out of various residences in the Cadillac and Wexford County area.

Traverse Narcotics Team also reports that approximately $7,000 to $8,000 worth of heroin was being sold in Cadillac and Wexford County per week, over a period of about two years.

Bowens was sentenced to Michigan Department of Corrections for no less that 80 months.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are anticipated.
