Woman Rescued From Car Fire in Isabella County

A car accident turned into a race to rush the woman driving from a car fire in Mt. Pleasant.

Police were called to the crash on US-127 near Baseline Road where a woman lost control of her car and hit several trees.

The engine then caught fire and officers had to use several extinguishers to put the flames out. 

While deputies worked on the fire, others tried to get the woman out of the car. They broke the sunroof and cut her seatbelt.

Deputies were able to rescue the woman from the car just before it caught on fire again.

Isabella County Sheriff's Department is investigating the crash.
