Commissioners Could Choose To Close a Grand Traverse Beach Due to Safety Concerns

Three drownings in three years has Grand Traverse County Commissioners deciding if a local beach should be closed.
The board has the choice to close Twin Lakes Beach until safety measures can be decided on.
They could also vote to move forward with a safety plan the parks and recreation board has come up with.
Since the safety issues at Twin Lakes were discussed in a meeting last week, a ring buoy and safety lines in the water have been placed at the beach.
9 &10's Meredith Barack will be at tonight's meeting and have continuing coverage on the decision.
