A New Look for the Old Town Playhouse

Traverse City's Old Town Playhouse is getting more than a fresh coat of paint during renovations later this summer.

After the board found out it would cost millions to rebuild completely, a three phase capital improvement plan will begin instead, and it starts after July's film festival.

These renovations coincide with the city's plans to rejuvenate some major corridors leading into the downtown district, 8th street being one of them.

Now the city and the Playhouse are working together to ensure the intersection at 8th and Cass Streets leave an impression.

9 and 10's Marisa McKay and photojournalist Jeremy Erickson went to the corridor today to find out what sorts of improvements the public can expect.
