UPDATE: Court Documents Show Baby Died From Head and Neck Trauma

An Oscoda man is charged with murdering his young son.

Court records show baby Brantley died from abusive head and neck trauma.

The records say the father, Corey Boerner, admitted to shaking the child at least 3 times in the past 2 weeks.

Boerner took the Brantley to the hospital after he noticed the child was having difficulty breathing.

The boy was taken to several hospitals before he was pronounced dead at an Ann Arbor hospital.

Brantley had head trauma and several healing rib fractures.

Police have arrested a man in Oscoda county for the murder of an infant.

In October, 2012, Oscoda County EMS responded to a home in Mio where an infant was having trouble breathing.

The child was taken to the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor.

Both the Department of Social Services and the Michigan State Police were notified of the incident, and they began a coordinated investigations.

The infant died at the hospital on October 9th, 2012.

State Police arrested Corey Boerner yesterday at his home in Mio.

Boerner is being charged with open murder.
