UPDATE: Mount Pleasant’s Fifth Armed Robbery in Three Days

UPDATE 4:34 – Another armed robbery has been reported in Mount Pleasant.

Students received an alert about an armed robbery near Mission and Broadway Street about 1.5 miles north of Central Michigan University’s campus.

Police say a Hispanic or white man entered a Check N Cash, took out a hand gun, and demanded money.

The man took an undetermined amount of money before fleeing on foot west of the business.

Police described the man to be about 30 years old, about 5’10", with a thin to medium build.

He was last seen wearing a dark colored coat, blue with white striped athletic pants, and a blue and black plaid baseball cap with ear flaps.

This is the fifth armed robbery in Mount Pleasant in the past three days.

investigators are following up on multiple tips they have received.

Mount Pleasant police believe four armed robberies over the weekend may be connected and are searching for suspects.

The robber in each crime had a black handgun.

The suspect in most of the robberies is described as a Hispanic or Native American man about 5-feet, 9 inches tall.

The first robbery happened late Friday at a Next Door Food Store on Remus Road in Union Township.

Saturday afternoon, someone robbed Advance America Cash Advance on Mission Street in broad daylight.

That’s just blocks from the Central Michigan University campus.

Around 4:30 Sunday afternoon, another Next Door Food Store at the corner of High Street and Adam Street was robbed.

The Subway on Mission Street became the latest victim around 11 Sunday night.

The person who robbed the Subway robbery left the scene in a dark colored pickup.

Police are urging everyone to be aware of their surroundings and call them with any information that could help with the investigations.
