Michigan Democrats Celebrate Election 2012 Victories

Michigan Democrats are thrilled with President Obama's re-election.

Debbie Stabenow winning the senate race was also crucial for the party.

We spoke with Democrats Tuesday night at the official watch party in Detroit about their campaign strategies. Volunteers worked right until polls closed, making phone calls and knocking on doors before arriving at the event.

Democrats say the energy from Obama's 2008 campaign never went away. They say support from auto workers in the Midwest, women, and young voters was crucial. 

Michigan Democrats were very pleased with the 2011 Emergency Financial Manager law getting turned down. They were also thrilled with proposal six losing, which would have made it more difficult to approve bridge construction projects with Canada.
