Bullying Investigation Ongoing in Benzie County

Thousands of students battle bullying every day, but one local mother says it went too far with her daughter. When her daughter came to her with the issue, she went to the Coach, but says nothing was done.

The Principal at Benzie Central says they take bullying very seriously, and started investigating right away. A couple of weeks ago the mother says her daughter refused to go to school, and that's when she says her daughter tried to harm herself.

Mickie Jannazzo knows about the affects of bullying on a teen; she works with victims. She says bullied kids should always tell a trusted adult what's going on. Meanwhile, this Benzie County mother says she's scared for what's next, and hopes the district is on board to stop it.

If you know someone who is a victim of bullying, you can call 231-439-5247 for the “Bullying Task Force”, and additional support.
