Cheboygan County Farmers Worried About Their Crops Being Destroyed, But Not By Weather

Farmers in Cheboygan County are worried about damage to this year's crops and to future crops.

The weather is not to blame this time, it's Elk.

They're devastating corn crops by eating their way through them.

A group of state legislators, farmers, and other officials got a first-hand look at the damage at a farm in Forrest Township today.

Elk damage has cost Fred Williams somewhere between $10,000 and $20,000.

Farmers feel their hands are tied because they are not allowed to kill Elk without getting a fine.

The DNR biologist out of Gaylord has been working hard to find a solution to the Elk problem.
