One Step Closer To Creating A Cadillac Center For People With Special Needs

A project that's designed to help people with special needs is one step closer to that goal.

“The After 26 Project” is still under construction, but soon will be a cafe, gift shop, and training center in Cadillac.

It will employ special needs adults who have aged out of the school system.

The project just received a $37,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, to pay for equipment inside the cafe.

It's some much needed help, for a project that's been along time coming.

Jim Turner, Michigan's Director for USDA Rural Development, will formally announce the grant tomorrow morning, at 9:30 at the future home of the cafe.

It could be up and running later this fall.
