Gunman in Kalkaska Turns Himself in to Deputies, and Faces a Judge for the First Time
We're told James Brackenbury had gotten into a fight with a woman on Friday. The victim is related to her, and told Deputies Brackenbury wasn't supposed to be at the house. The Sheriff says Brackenbury pointed a gun at the victim, and took off into the woods. A perimeter was set up by police right away. They brought in SWAT teams, and searched through the night with no luck; Brackenbury ended up turning himself in, this morning.
The Judge says this is his third domestic violence charge, making it a felony. He is also charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
