Law Enforcement’s Version of Social Networking: New Mobile App
A local sheriff's department wants to be as connected and accessible as possible.
The Clare County Sheriff's Office in Harrison, is the first department in Michigan with a specialized mobile app for cell phones.
The app allows the Sheriff to send notices to the public, post crimes committed in the county, and then gives the people a voice directly to the sheriff himself.
You can report a crime or check the sex offender's list…all in an effort by the sheriff to keep up with a more mobile world.
The project did not cost taxpayers a dime.
It was all paid for through drug forfeiture money.
