2012 National Cherry Queen Crowned

There's a new queen in Traverse City – the 2012 National Cherry Queen was crowned tonight at the Park Place Hotel.

The Cherry Queen is responsible for representing and promoting the benefits of the cherry industry.

They represent the cherry capital of the world, and are encouraged to invite everyone they meet to visit the area.

This year's Cherry Queen first runner up was 23-year-old Ashley Wade.

The 2012 National Cherry Queen this year is Meg Howard.

The ladies were crowned during a ballroom dinner and dance at the Park Place Dome.
