Family Says 4-Year-Old’s Body Found, Report of Arrest Made

Family members tell us that police found the body of 4-year-old Carnel Chamberlain this afternoon.

And tonight, the Native News Network is reporting that Anthony Bennett — the person last seen with Carnel — has been arrested.

Carnel disappeared last Thursday from his home on the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Reservation in Isabella County.

9 and 10's Kalin Franks and photojournalist Joel Deaner were on the scene today and have more on the new developments in the story.

6:30pm UPDATE: Chamberlain family spokesperson says that FBI have informed them that they have found the body of the missing 4-year-old boy.

The family tells us police have taped off the home Carnel went missing from and cadaver dogs are searching the front and back porches.

Carnel has not been seen since last Thursday when police say he disappeared from his home on the Saginaw Chippewa Reservation.

The FBI has officially taken over the case away from tribal officials.

Police have surrounded the house Carnel was last seen at and have shut off the road to the public.
