Blashill introduced as Griffins Coach

GRAND RAPIDS – Jeff Blashill has been on a fast track in his career.  The man with multiple Northern Michigan connections was introduced Thursday morning as the new Head Coach of the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Blashill was born in Sault Ste Marie but played goalie for the Ferris State Bulldogs.  After his playing career finished, Blashill became an Assistant Coach for the University.  He coached at the Junior Hockey level then made his way to Western Michigan University for one very successful season as a Head Coach for the Broncos.  That landed him a job as an Assistant to Mike Babcock and a spot on the Detroit Red Wings bench.
