Cheboygan County Hospital Hosts Business Forum

A Northern Michigan hospital is in recovery — and reaching out to local business leaders for help.

Services have picked back up at the newly-named McLaren Northern Michigan – Cheboygan Campus.

The Cheboygan Memorial Hospital closed unexpectedly in April.

McLaren re-opened it last month — but the new company isn't restoring long term care or in-patient services.

To help them get the pulse of the community — the hospital held a forum with local business leaders.

Although it's been a rough couple of months, economic leaders say supporting this hospital, in turn supports Cheboygan.

And McLaren still offers emergency and out-patient services — and is working to restore some of its other health care options.

9&10's Evan Dean and PhotoJournalist Tony Zyber sat in on the forum this morning, they have the story.
