Cyclists From Around the Country Compete in Mt. Pleasant
Nearly 900 hundred cyclists battled today's heat for a shot at the podium in the Tour de Mont Pleasant.
The annual road race brings riders from across the country and is one of the premier cycling events in the state.
The event is possible thanks to nearly 500 volunteers on the course.
The tour is the longest point to point race east of the Mississippi meaning that riders don't cover the same ground twice.
Riders can choose from multiple distances including a 54 mile race and 120 mile race.
