Grand Traverse Metro Fire Receives Grant for Smoke Alarm Batteries

A northern Michigan fire department is getting some help to save lives. Grand Traverse Metro Fire received a grant from the Rotary Club in Traverse City to buy about 2,000 batteries for smoke alarms. Today, Sparky the fire dog was at Lowe's in Traverse City to pick up the batteries. The department has a five year goal to ensure every Grand Traverse County home has two working alarms.
