Former Mental Health Complex in Mt. Pleasant Finding New Purpose
A former mental health complex in Mount Pleasant is finding a new purpose.
For about 70 years, the buildings were a part of the Mount Pleasant Center, which served people with disabilities.
But they've been abandoned and run down since 2010.
The city of Mount Pleasant took possession of the property from the state.
They'll now auction off equipment left in the buildings and plan to demolish the old, worn down structures, to make way for a new project.
