Thousands of Salmon Released into Boardman River

Things in Traverse City are getting fishy. This morning the Grand Traverse Area Sport Fishing Association and the Platte River Hatchery released 75,000 king salmon into the Boardman River. The salmon are small now, but once they've gone through the smolting process, they'll be released from the net and swim into the bay for anglers and visitors to catch.

Fishermen say Traverse City had the largest salmon return in the state last year, and it was because of the nets.
