Feedback at 5:00- Is Bully Settlement Appropriate?
A New Jersey school district has agreed to pay $4.2 million to settle a lawsuit by a student left paralyzed by a bully.
Sawyer Rosenstein, now 18, was 12 when a known bully punched him in the stomach in 2006.
The attack caused a clot in his artery, cutting blood to his spine and paralyzing him from the waist down.
Rosenstein says he e-mailed school officials three months before the attack to report he was being bullied and asked for help.
The Ramsey Board of Education denies any wrongdoing and says the district's insurance carriers decided to enter into the settlement and will pay it out.
Do you think the school is responsible, and do you think the insurance company should have paid out?
It's tonight's “Feedback at 5:00.”
