Former Principal Headed to Jail
A former Charlevoix County elementary school principal will spend 1 year in jail for stealing from the school she ran.
This morning, a judge sentenced Keisha Veryser for embezzling from St. Mary's Catholic School in Charlevoix.
In March, Veryser pleaded guilty to embezzling more than $1,000 in both 2009 and 2010 from the school.
In exchange for the plea, the prosecutor dropped other charges against her, Veryser was ordered to pay $75,000 in restitution, we're told she paid half of that amount today.
