Driver Who Purposely Crashed into Oncoming Traffic Faces Charges
A teenager accused of trying to kill himself by crashing into oncoming traffic was in court today.
Police say the Roger Mawby planned to commit suicide when he crashed head on into traffic on US-31 in Grand Traverse County.
He's facing a felony charge of assault with intent to murder, and reckless driving.
Drivers in the other vehicles suffered a broken leg, cuts and bruises.
Mawby's attorney says he's been hospitalized and is receiving treatment for depression.
He is expected back in court in two weeks.
