DNR Files Lawsuit Against Cheboygan Hunting Ranch

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources announced today they have filed a lawsuit against a Cheboygan County hunting ranch.

The suit has been filed against the Renegade Ranch Hunting Preserve after officials say the preserve is violating Michigan's Invasive Species Act because of a type of swine they have at the ranch.

The Invasive Species Order went into effect last October but those who owned swine were given until April 1 to start following the law.

The suit filed against the ranch owners asks them to depopulate the remaining swine. Fines for violating the Invasive Species Act range from $1,000 to $20,000 per violation.
