Boardman River Blocked by Many Downed Trees, Soil Conservation District Warns People to Be Careful

People may be anxious to get out on the water, but one river in Grand Traverse County is still in bad shape from the big winter storm three and a half weeks ago.

Take a look at what mother nature left behind, the Boardman River in Traverse City has several spots like this that are blocked by downed trees. The Grand Traverse County Soil Conservation District tells us because of the blockages the water is also very deep. They say the DNR is busy cleaning up campgrounds from the storm.

Once water levels go down volunteers will begin the clean-up.
