Traverse City Businesses Receive Boost From Long Weekend

Build it, and they will come. People from all over flooded into Traverse City for the long weekend. With the mild winter we have had so far, ski resorts haven't seen much traffic; but Mt. Holiday says their parking lot was full, and their slopes were busy. Traverse City businesses depend on visitors to make ends meet, but the past couple of months haven't been easy.

Wet Mitten Surf Shop specializes in summer sports, but the owner says nice weather gets people thinking about coming north, and looking forward to getting out on the water.

Mt. Holiday says although this weekend was one of their busiest so far, being a non-profit, they will need more than just one good weekend to make up for a slow winter.
