Results from the final GNHSBC HS Bowling meet

The Great Northwest High School Bowling Conference (GNHSBC) held its final event for the 2011-12 season which was the Team Conference Tournament. 

In Girls action, the Bellaire Eagles remained undefeated in conference play by taking the Girls Team Tournament at Lucky Jacks.  Bellaire finished first in the qualifying round with a 1657 series composed of Two Baker Games (124 & 134) and Two Singles Games (717 & 682).  The Eagles defeated Benzie Central in the Title match by a Two Baker Game score of 248 (132 & 116) to 180 (75 & 105). 

 

The Huskies had defeated TC West in the semi-finals by edging the Titans by 224 (108 & 116) to 217 (130 & 87).  Bellaire defeated Glen Lake in its semi-final match by 346 (175 & 171) to 153 (78 & 75).

 

In Boys action, the Sabers from TC Christian defeated TC Central Trojans in the Championship match by a score of 363 (203 & 180) to 323 (168 & 155).  TC Central led all teams in the qualifying round and was seeded first in the playoff bracket with 2125 series composed of Two Baker Games (166 & 177) and Two Singles Games (921 & 861).  TC Christian had the match of the day in the semi-finals when they bowled Elk Rapids.  The Elks nearly defeated TC Christian and fell by just four pins.  The Elks shot a 339 (184 & 155) to the Sabers 343 (176 & 167).  TC Central got by Bellaire in the semis by defeating the Eagles 366 (191 & 175) to 303 (146 & 157).  In a very tight first round match, Elk Rapids defeated TC West by only nine pins.  The Elks shot 354 (171 & 183) to the Titans 345 (172 & 173). 

 

All of the schools will move on to Regional action next weekend at designated locations based on each schools division level.  Glen Lake / St Francis will host a Division IV regional tournament February 24 and 25 at Lucky Jacks.
