Black Lake Sturgeon Season Ends on Opening Day

The Department of Natural Resources has an update on the 2012 season for a very rare fish in Northern Michigan.

The Black Lake Sturgeon season was scheduled to run from February 4-8 or until the harvest of two fish had been reached.

Anglers harvested only 2 of the fish on the lake in Cheboygan and Presque Isle Counties on the morning of February 4.

Both fish were more than 50 inches long and had been captured and released before by sturgeon researchers.
