Community Group Hopes to Restore Honor

Members of one northern Michigan community hope that improving the look and features of their town will help boost the local economy.

The Honor Area Restoration Project presented a revitalization plan Monday night at a community forum.

H.A.R.P. has already started several projects including the construction of a new sidewalk system. They want Honor to become a staging area for exploring the nearby Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

The group is using grant money to create a recreation plan so people can experience the area's natural beauty.

There will also be a new community center thanks to the donation of a local building.

9 and 10's Kyle Mitchell and Photojournalist Joel Deaner have more on the plan to restore Honor.
