TCLP Donates Thousands to Charity

A local utility company is giving the fees it collects from customers to local charities.

They add up to almost $23,000 and Traverse City Light and Power is donating that money to places like Father Fred Foundation and the Salvation Army.

The money comes from the company's Red Tag Program, a fee charged to those who fail to pay overdue bills.

TCLP says they're giving it to agencies that help people who are having trouble paying for their utilities.
