Cherry Capital Airport Plaque Commemorates WWII Air Field
Cherry Capital Airport remembered the anniversary of Pearl Harbor this morning. A special unveiling ceremony was held to honor a WWII Naval Air Field.
The U.S. Naval Air Station was where the airport is now, back in 1942. The Naval Air Field built and tested drone aircraft for WWII, but many don't even know the air field ever existed.
People gathered in the terminal today to reveal a new plaque that teaches travelers the air field's history.
