Michigan’s Water Quality Conference in Roscommon County

You do not have to be an expert to help keep streams and lakes healthy in Michigan.

Volunteer water quality monitors from across the state met today in Higgins Lake to talk about ways to protect and restore Michigan's lakes and streams

The conference is a two day event in Roscommon County.

It brings together people who are trying to help keep invasive species out of the waters.

People interested in volunteering do not need any previous experience.

It's a program with lots of flexibility when it comes to commitment.

You can choose the amount of time you put into it.

Organizers say just one day of collecting samples can go a long way.
