Mecosta County to Set Up Sobriety Court

One Northern Michigan county will now help some troublemakers solve their problems instead of sending them to jail.

A new $50,000 federal grant will allow Mecosta County to create their own Sobriety Court.

The probation program is for repeat alcohol offenders.

It will focus on solving the person's alcohol problem instead of just throwing them in jail.

The program is very intense and will require close supervision of the offender's every move.
