Movie Crew Shooting Feature Film in Michigan Amidst Drastic State Incentive Cuts

Lights — camera — action. These film crews are shooting a full length movie entirely in Northern Michigan. The movie in production is a family action-adventure film titled 'Mickey Matson and the Copperhead Conspiracy.' Despite a drastic cutback in Michigan film incentives, the film crew received more than $160,000 to make the movie in Michigan — by people from Michigan. 10 West Studios is teaming up with EMC Productions to shoot the film in both Ludington and Manistee. The movie stars mostly people from Michigan, including veteran actor Ernie Hudson who says he's happy to return home to work. The director says the film will likely hit the big screen in Michigan by next summer. 9&10's Evan Dean and Photojournalist Jacob Johnson were on set today and have the story.
