EPA Announces Major N.Michigan Projects, Will Create Jobs
The Environmental Protection Agency announced two major projects to keep Lake Michigan clean and The Sleeping Bear Dunes as America's most beautiful place.
The projects were announced at a press conference in Glen Arbor this morning.
The EPA will give 1.1-million dollars to the National Lakeshore and the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians as part of their Great Lakes Restoration Initiative.
The money will create about 55 jobs for the next two years and work to preserve the region's beauty and save endangered species like the Piping Plover.
