Police Chase Reaches 100 MPH Spans 4 Michigan Counties

Police say a Midland man led them on a high speed chase through four Northern Michigan counties at speeds that reached 100 MPH. It started Wednesday morning around 2:00 AM when Police attempted to pull over the suspect in Clare County on M-115. He didn't stop, and instead fled from officers. We are told he continued speeding up and slowing down. The chase went through Clare, Osceola, Wexford and Missaukee Counties. Police say it ended when he lost control of his car and crashed into a wooded area on private property in Clare County. The driver, a 24-year-old man was breathing but not responsive after the crash. He was flown to Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids for treatment. Police are still investigating the incident, and believe that alcohol is a factor.
