Police Say Indiana Woman was Beaten & Dropped Off in Crawford County

Deputies in Crawford County are working to find out the story behind an Indiana woman who was beaten and driven to Crawford County and asked to get out of the car.

Deputies say the woman was picked up by a passer-by and taken to Caid's Store in Lovells, where officials responded and started their investigation on Monday morning.

The woman stated she had been driven by two people from Indianapolis to the Crawford County area where she was then told to get out of the car.

Deputies say the woman spent the night in the woods between North Down River Rd and County Rd 612.

The woman had been physically beaten but told officials that she was not sexually assaulted.

She was treated for head and facial injuries.
