Sex Offender Attempts to Kidnap Woman on Walk Path in Ludington

Police say a woman — attacked on a Northern Michigan walking path — is the victim of an attempted kidnapping. It happened along the Cartier Park Pathway in Ludington on Saturday. The man accused of the crime – Richard Vodvarka – is in jail today. The victim was able to break free and call 911. Police found Vodvarka less than a half hour after the attack on a nearby street. This isn't the first time Vodvarka has been in trouble with the law. He just got out of prison in January following a twelve year sentence for Criminal Sexual Charges. Officers say there are things that you can do to prevent this type of incident — like walking or running with a partner. 9&10's Evan Dean spoke to the Police Chief in Ludington and has the story.
