Kingsley High School Jazz Band Takes Music On The Road, Plays For Special Woman With Cancer

Kingsley High School's jazz band took their skills out of the classroom and into the community Tuesday morning. They played a concert for a special community member suffering from cancer, Sallie Hoeflin. Sallie's granddaughter played with the band and students say she would come to their performances. Tuesday was also her birthday and they wanted to do something special for her. They rolled up to her house on a parade float and played while she listened from the front window. For the community, it's a chance to show how much they love her. For the kids, it's a way to give back to someone who supported them. Jennifer Profitt and Photojournalist Jeremy Erickson have more.
