Man Shot in Sault Ste. Marie

A shooting in Sault Ste. Marie landed one man in jail and another with three bullet wounds to the leg. It happened around 5:00 PM Monday in the 700 block of Ashmun Street. When officers arrived on the scene they found one man seriously injured. Police say the suspect, John Myrick IV has been charged with assault to do great harm less than murder, and a weapon felony firearm charge. Myrick is currently under a $100,000 bond. The victim, a 22-year-old Sault Ste. Marie man, was taken to War Memorial Hospital and later flown to the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. He is listed in serious condition, but his injuries are not life threatening.
