Rainy and Mild Night Ahead

*Nice & mild tonight, but rain is moving in *Rain continues into tomorrow, with a few embedded rumbles of thunder possible __________________________ Clouds are quickly moving into Northern Michigan after a gorgeous and fall-like weekend, and the rain isn't far behind. Expect the southwest portion of the area to see it first, then everyone will get in on the action overnight. A few embedded thunderstorms are possible with the passing rain, but severe weather is not a threat. Rain totals are looking to be in the 1″ range for most of the area, with a few areas seeing above an inch. Tonight will be mild with temperatures in the 50's. Rain carries over into tomorrow, but activity dwindles as the day goes on. Expect highs in the mid 60's to low 70's with winds becoming NW 6-12mph. Tuesday will partially clear out as a quick bout of high pressure moves in, leaving us partly cloudy and dry. Highs with the sun will be in the upper 60's to mid 70's. Overnight Tuesday into Wednesday comes our next chance of rain, with skies clouding up again and scattered showers. Highs Wednesday will be in the 64 to 72 range, but temperatures are expected to fall quickly throughout the day as another cold front works its way in. Thursday will be our return to cool, with partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid 50's to low 60's. These cooler temperatures will allow for lake effect showers and clouds to develop throughout Thursday. Friday begins a period of sunny and dry weather, with temperatures remaining cool–55 to 62 degrees. Warmer weather looks to take hold for the weekend, with highs gradually sneaking into the 60's for Saturday, then the 60's and mid 70's again for Sunday under plenty of sunshine. -Meteorologist Katie Dupree
