Mt. Pleasant Man Killed in One-car Rollover Accident

A 22 year old Mt. Pleasant man died in an accident in Isabella County Saturday morning, that the sheriff's department says was caused by excessive speed and alcohol. Deputies say the accident happened shortly before 3:30 a.m. on North Shepherd Road, just north of Beal City road in Denver Township. They say Thomas Painter was not wearing a seat belt when he lost control his northbound Jeep Wrangler. It began fishtailing, left the road, and overturned. Painter was ejected, and deputies say the Jeep rolled over him. A passenger in the car, wearing a seat belt, was unhurt.
