The Heat is Coming

* Lingering Showers End Tonight * Mostly Sunny & Very Warm Tomorrow * 90's for Some Friday – Much Cooler This Weekend ————————————— Skies are slowly clearing from South to North overnight. The atmosphere won't have time to completely dry out so plan on seeing patchy fog. A few showers are still around for areas North of M-72 but most areas will not see much rain tonight. Winds go light with lows dropping to the mid 50's and low 60's. The heat is on the next few days with the mercury soaring into the 80's and 90's. Mostly sunny skies are forecast tomorrow with light winds from the S/SW. Unless you live near the lakes, plan on highs to be in the middle 80's. Friday brings even more heat with places like Traverse City, Grayling and Onaway reaching the 90's. Clouds filter in during the afternoon bringing widely scattered showers and thunderstorms into the region. Winds pick up to 10-25 mph out of the southwest. A cold front drops through Friday night cooling down the temperatures for Saturday. You'll see highs in the upper 60's to 70's under partly sunny skies. Temperatures cool down even more Sunday with partly sunny skies and the chance of a shower. By Labor Day you'll see more clouds than sunshine with highs in the 60's. – Tom
