Dunn and Schults power Bums to Victory
TRAVERSE CITY – Scott Dunn pitched six and two-thirds solid innings of baseball, allowing just two runs to earn his seventh win of the season as the Traverse City Beach Bums beat the Rockford Riverhawks, 4-2. New acquisition Stephen Schults hit his first home run as a Beach Bum, a 2-run homer in the fourth inning that gave Traverse City a 3-0 lead. Tom Zebroski and Jeff Flagg drove in the other two Traverse City runs. With the win, and a Lake Erie loss to Joliet, the Beach Bums are now only a half game out of the final playoff spot in the Frontier League's East Division. Game two of the series with Rockford is slated for 7:05 Wednesday evening at Wuerfel Park. David Deminsky will get the start for Traverse City.
