36 Million Pounds of Ground Turkey Recalled

Meat giant Cargill is recalling 36 million pounds of turkey after a government hunt for the source of a salmonella outbreak. The outbreak has killed one person in California and left dozens of people sick. The Minnesota-based company announced on Wednesday they are recalling fresh and frozen ground turkey that came from the company's Springdale, Arkansas plant. Meat produced between February 20 and August 2 is believed to possibly be contaminated. The salmonella strain has been linked to 76 illnesses around the country. Cargill officials say that turkey production has been stopped until they can determine the source of the outbreak.
